Here are two nails design that i did this month to celebrate Christmas. Many nail designs are not as hard as it seems. Just break it apart into simple shapes and modify it a little. Detailing tools doesn't have to be nail tools, you can find things like a tooth pick, a paint brush, bobby pins, etc. Here are the steps of how i did my nails, but feel free to change up the colours and modify the design! Good luck & have fun !

Materials:

• Base Coat & Top Coat
• Gold Glitter Polish ( can be created with mixing top coat and gold glitter)
• Red Polish & Darker red polish ( optional)
• Detailing tools ( nail art brush )

Steps:

1. Start off with clean nails, cuticle pushed back and trimmed, filed and shaped etc.
2. Apply base coat. Allow few minutes to dry.
3. Apply gold glitter polish over entire nail. Allow to dry.
4. Apply gold glitter polish on top half of the nail. Allow to dry.
5. Repeat the gold polish steps instead, apply it on 1/3 of the nail, 1/4, then 1/8 of the nail. This will create a gradient glitter effect.
6. Take your long nail art brush dipped in red polish. Draw a diagonal line across nails to create the ribbon. 
7. Draw a triangle like shape for one side of the bow. You can use a dotting tool or tooth pick to help create the shape.
8. Repeat the triangle shape flipped for the other side of the bow leaving a small gap in between each triangle.
9. Draw or dot a round shape in between the triangle to create the knot. 
10. Draw 2 elongated Y shape to make the ends of the ribbon.
11. Take the darker red to add some shading to the bow ( optional )
12. Lastly, after all layers are dried, apply a top coat.

• Red,Blue, Yellow, Black, White polish
• Detailing tools ( nail art brush, dotting tool )

Steps:

1. Start off with clean nails, cuticle pushed back and trimmed, filed and shaped etc.
2. Apply base coat. Allow few minutes to dry.
3. Apply top coat to the tips of your nails ( like a clear french polish)
4. Dip tips of fingers in the glitter. Allow to dry and brush off excess with clean brush.
5. With nail art brush, draw a random black line on each nail for the wire .
6. With nail art brush or dotting tool, make little black marks on the sides of the wire for the beginning of the bulb. 
7. Draw or dot a rain drop shape on each black mark for the colourful bulbs. I followed the a colour pattern blue yellow red, blue yellow red etc.
8. Draw a thin line of white on the side of each bulb to highlight.
9. Lastly, after all layers are dried, apply a top coat.
